No matter how we try
Can one ever be sure
Certainty attracts egotism
With subtle superficial allure
Lost in a string of days
In an endless to do list
The focus always next
In the end, your life is missed
Close your eyes my friend
Breathe the simple air
Be at peace along your road
Worry when you get there
Walk wisely still my friend
Careful where you go
Some possess only bitterness
And truth refuse to know

Fighting through the clouds

Stumbling in the dark

Accomplishing the unnecessary

Eyes focused on the mark

Seeking to find a place

Some place he can sit down

Just to have some peace

While in his thoughts he drowns

Priority to be done

Society in classes

We seek to be elite

Relativity to beat

Our pursuits frivolous

Until they’re all envious

Help this goal to change

Priorities to rearrange

Instead of being a star

Simply being who we are

The one who seeks to be cool
